12 Hour Paediatric First Aid Training Course
This course is in line with the statutory framework for the early years foundation stage EYFS and meets the requirements for Ofsted and is suitable for Schools, Nurseries and Child minders or any person dealing with children who requires a more in-depth knowledge of the subject.
This is a 12 hour course but can be split into 4 by 3 hour sessions or over two days.
The require EYFS syllabus includes:
- Priorities of First Aid
- Management of incidents
- Choking
- Treatment for Adult, Infant or Child who is not breathing CPR
- Causes and treatment for unconsciousness
- Poisons including Anaphalaxis
- Soft tissue injuries and Fractures
- Control of bleeding minor and major including Shock
- Eye and Ear injuries
- Burns and Scalds
- Childhood Illnesses Including Meningitis, Febrile Convulsions, sickle cell
- First Aid equipment
- Regulations
- Recording and Reporting.
There is no formal exam, the tutor will carry out a continual assessment of the students. All students will be awarded a certificate as required by Ofsted on successful completion of the course. The Certificate is valid for 3 years.
First Aid Consultancy & Training Services will provide a manual free of charge to go with the course.
