18 Hours (3 Day's) First Aid at Work
The full Health and Safety approved First Aid at Work course in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid at Work Regulations of 1981) this course is for larger or higher risk environments and can be adapted to suit the working activities of the company. The course runs over three day's and includes both practical and theory sessions and will cover:
- Introduction to First Aid
- Safety first / Managing the incident
- Choking
- Causes and treatment for the unconscious casualty
- Causes and treatment for a casualty who is not breathing CPR
- Heart Attacks
- Control of bleeding both minor and major
- Shock types and treatments
- Soft tissue injuries and fractures
- Poisons / introduction to C.O.S.H.H / Anaphalaxis
- Burns and Scalds including Electrical
- Various common illnesses
- Eye injuries
- Other areas of need or concern to the company
- Regulations as per current guidelines
- Reporting of occurrences at work
- First Aid Equipment
At the end of the course students will be independently examined and will be awarded a certificate on successful completion and meeting the required standards. First Aid Consultancy & Training Services provide a manual free of charge along with this course.
The certificate is valid for three years, However the Health and Safety strongly recommend that an update of half a day is carried out every year.
